Week #7 was/is a 25 min run x 3. Run #1 completed yesterday morning and now the wheels have fallen off the whole project.
I was a bit sore from Friday’s 22 min run and when I started my run yesterday the tops of my quads and hip flexors were so sore I almost hobbled the first few hundred metres until I got into my flow. The signs were there.
By the end I actually felt pretty good but within an hour of finishing my right knee blew up and my hip isn’t well either. My knee is bruised and a bit swollen. It feels like it has been hit with a hammer and my hip feels like I’m twisted and out of line and sends pain down my leg. It wasn’t fun trying to sleep on it last night.
So thats it. I’ve decided to stop until it’s better. I’m icing and applying heat but it feels like the week is done and I can’t go to the gym either. Limping isn’t a good look.
FFS. Annoyed is an under statement because I played it 100% by the book.

☹️l tried couch to 5k last year to help lose some weight and add some variation to my cycling fitness – failed after I got towards the end when my calf & achilles on one leg said no more! 😥🤬Has happened several times over the years so don’t run anymore, just not worth the grief – I only cycle now! 🥳
