Winter Sun

After a couple of years of doing a long weekend in Malaga just before Christmas, we’ve decided to go back to a long-time favourite place, Corralejo, Fuerteventura this December.

It’s not that we’ve had enough of Malaga, it’s an absolutely superb city break but the cost had almost doubled this year and for a similar price we could have a week in the Canary Islands vs a long weekend so that was an easy decision to make. We’ve never been in December before so although we don’t expect it to be as warm as previous visits, it is a goto for winter sun and therefore should be warmer than Malaga. Fingers crossed.

More importantly though, Corralejo means bike hire so I’ve hired a Cube Reaction Pro for the week again. When it’s Trek vs Cube, Cube will always win (and they didn’t have my size in a Trek Marlin anyway!). Last time I opted for a Medium but it was a bit small for me so a Large this time should be spot on. I just need to make sure I cream up for the first ride as last time I got baked in 2hrs along the coast.

91 euros for the week

The bike was advertised with an air fork last time and didn’t come with one. I’m not getting my hopes up again but a soft air fork would be just perfect for the coast road because it’s like a washboard.

Anyway, it’s all booked now and something to look forward to after our trip to Toronto in October

Adios
