The Arrow Valley Allroad
Sun 9 Aug 2026 @ 10:00 am
FreeIn a slight change from the normal Gravelton format The Arrow Valley Allroad is new and longer route for 2026 with a bigger tarmac to gravel ratio to gobble up the miles. Starting and finishing in Arrow Valley Park, Redditch the route uses traffic-free routes and some not-so-technical offroad sections to keep riders on their toes. Gravel highlights are Oversley Woods, the spicy offroad climb up from Hidcote Boyce and The Greenway, Stratford. It’s a great route to add a metric century ride to your Strava locker.
Gravelton Events are not official or sanctioned. They are self-supported group rides. Same route, same day. It’s just you, your bike and your mates having fun.
All we ask is you share your ride with everyone else in the community.

The Route
No short course for this one as it’s a one-off route and not too technical
The route leaves Arrow Valley aside it’s lake and takes riders south on NCN Route 5’s traffic free paths out of the park to pickup the route of an old railway line out towards Studley. After some quiet lanes through Sambourne, riders will pass Coughton Court, cross the ford (bridge available) and grind their way up Arden Way, the first gravel sector of the route. After a few metres it’s back offroad again for another short sector before heading into Alcester to cross the A46 and a fun lap of Oversley Woods. From here riders pop out in Wixford and take on a lengthy tarmac section now out via Bidford-on-Avon to Honeybourne to link up with Mickleton to climb Bakers Hill then the offroad climb to the highest point en-route via Hidcote Boyce. From here riders tackle a bridleway that featured in The Crimble Bimble before the steep, fast road descent into Ilmington Village.
After Lower Quinton, riders are taken offroad again, firstly via Meon Vale then The Greenway to Stratford where Bobby’s Cafe at the end is ideally positioned for a refreshment stop. From here it’s a quick hop over to the canal and then it’s towpath back to Wilmcote where riders alight and can enjoy quiet lanes through Aston Cantlow and Ullenhall to eat up the last few miles. At Beoley, it’s the final climb of the day up past St Leonards Church before a steep descent to pick up NCN Route 55 briefly, back into Arrow Valley Park and back to the visitors centre.
