The Broadway Grinder
Sat 17 Oct 2026 @ 10:00 am
After a successful inaugral event in 2025, the route has been amended to take a bit of technique out of the technical climbs. Gone is the brutal hike-a-bike finish up Stanton and a new route to the top of Bredon Hill beckons. The Broadway Grinder is a punchy foray up and down the Cotswold escarpent that hangs over the town. If you’re prepared to do the climbing, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views and some of the best gravel trails in the area. Don’t be scared of the elevation, take your time, there is plenty of tarmac to recover on and eat up the miles.

The Route
Riders head south out of Broadway High St and take a left onto Cheltenham Rd for a brief warm up before the first ascent up Buckland. On top, riders continue to ascend on The Winchcombe Way before a new loop for 2026 takes riders through Cutsdean and across the B4077 before the pacey descent to Hailes Abbey. From here it’s straight back up on The Cotswold Way to Farmcote to pickup the Campden Lane sector in reverse. The equally fast descent off Stanway gives way to a flat section across to Bredon Hill via Toddington and Alderton and a chance for riders to recover before the first ascent up Bredon Hill on the Yellow Brick Rd.
At Kemerton, riders make the climb to the summit on a new trail for 2026 to enjoy some of the best views you’ll see all year. Photos in the bag, the trail skirts the summit edge before a steep, bumpy drop back down to Ashton-under-Hill and another chance to recover on the transitional tarmac back to Laverton. From here riders take a linked path to Buckland and a final ascent to mop up the last bit of gravel before dropping back to Broadway via Snowshill. Enjoy the descent, it’s a fast one!
You can download a GPS file from the Gravelton GPS Folder in any format you want or use the Komoot links below
The Short Course follows the same path as the main route but cuts out the Bredon Hill sector by taking a right in Toddington Village at the foot of Stanway Hill and heads straight to Laverton for the final ascent up Buckland.
