The Sherwood Shakedown

Sun 26 Jul 2026 @ 10:00 am

The Sherwood Shakedown logo

This is another #newevent for 2026. Looking for new places to ride and driving around the place for my job gave me the inspiration for this one. I’ve diligently researched a host of maps and resources to deliver a well-rounded route based out of Sherwood Pines. It’s not too heavy on technicality, distance or elevation. It’s a great way to explore the forest and enjoy some of the best gravel trails in the area.

Gravelton Events are not official or sanctioned. They are self-supported group rides. Same route, same day. It’s just you, your bike and your mates having fun.

All riders who wish to join me on a ride agree to adhere to my code of conduct. Have fun and share your ride with everyone else in the community afterwards.

The Route

The main route initially takes a meandering loop around Sherwood Pines then heads south on NCN Route 6 via Blidworth to turn northbound. After Harlow Wood, riders skirt Mansfield and tip toe around some local golf clubs to Kings Clipstone. From here riders pick their way northbound on a mix of trails through Market Warsop to Creswell. Tt’s then east and the imposing Clumber Park beckons via the aptly named Robin Hood Way. Here riders turn south for home via Sherwood Forest Country Park and back to Sherwood Pines

You can download a GPS file from the Gravelton GPS Folder in any format you want or use the Komoot links below

Short coursers miss the loop south out of Sherwood Pines via Blidworth
